Some praise the early data coming regarding rolling efficacy, others think it is just the industry finding new ways to make us consume more money on new bikes, complicating thing with more standards e.t.c. e.tc.<\/p><p>Personally I am mostly against\u00a0 32&#8243; inch wheels Why? Do I not support development in cycling that gives better traction and less rolling resistance? Altough I love new gear, I am laso pretty conservative. I like the way bikes looks with 27.5&#8243; to 29&#8243; wheels on them. Is it not just a matter of time before 32&#8243; also looks good? Perhaps, perhaps not.<\/p><p>And to be honest, there is also a case of me being selfish, I have a road, gravel and a mountainbike all in 29&#8243;\/700C standard. I want be able to compete with others knowing I have more or less the same equipment as others.\u00a0<\/p><p>However, I feel as if UCI that has tried to slow things down has a golden opportunity now to stop this by simply reffering to safety. The early data we have suggest 32&#8243; wheels will be faster on mountainbike, gravel and road. UCI have tried to limit gear ratios, increase the width of handlebars e.t.c. to slow speed down. In addition, the handling might be compromised, especially on smaller sizes which might indeed increase risks. In addition we have the fairness aspect. Most bike builders suggest 32&#8243; wheels will not be suitable for frame-sizes below 54 without compromising handling too much. However, if it is indeed faster smaller riders will have to choose between having worse equipment or fast equipment with potantially worse handling.\u00a0<\/p><p>To me this looks like a good opportunity for new safety rules!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The opinion on 32&#8243; wheels are mixed.
